KATHMANDU: Arsenal have won the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.
City needed a win to keep the title race alive, but Junior Kroupi gave Bournemouth the lead in the 39th minute before Erling Haaland scored a stoppage-time equaliser that came too late.
Managed by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal secured their 14th English league title and first since the unbeaten “Invincibles” season under Arsène Wenger in 2003-04.
Arsenal can still complete a historic season when they face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30.
