KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal today warned lawmakers from the Shram Sanskriti Party against what he termed “unruly behavior” after they staged a protest inside the House of Representatives carrying placards.

The party’s lawmakers have been protesting with placards for consecutive House sessions.

During today’s sitting as well, Shram Sanskriti Party MPs stood up and displayed placards protesting the absence of Prime Minister Balen Shah from House proceedings, as well as against the eviction of landless settlers in Kathmandu.

The lawmakers’ repeated protests disrupted the House session, prompting the Speaker to intervene.

He reminded all members that maintaining parliamentary dignity and discipline is a shared responsibility of every lawmaker.

Speaker Aryal urged MPs to respect the rules of procedure and parliamentary decorum, warning Shram Sanskriti Party lawmakers, including its parliamentary party leader Harka Sampang, to correct their conduct and refrain from similar actions in the future.
