MUSTANG: Religious tourists have increased in the Muktinath region of Mustang.

With favorable weather and an easier road network, the area has started drawing crowds of tourists. Among those visiting Muktinath, the majority of the religious tourists are Indian.

The attraction for Indian pilgrims has grown due to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Muktinath and the recently promoted religious circuits.

As road routes have become smoother, the Pokhara-Jomsom-Muktinath journey has shortened. Consequently, the journey to Muktinath has become easier for both domestic and foreign tourists. Currently, the Muktinath temple premises, Ranipauwa, and nearby hotels are packed with tourists.
