Six held with illegal drugs in three districts

Police in Parsa district on Tuesday afternoon arrested a man in possession of 65kg of cannabis from Birgunj Metropolitan-18. The cannabis was recovered from a truck where it was kept hidden in the cabin.

The arrested has been identified as Ram Kumar Moktan (51), a local resident of Manhari Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district.

Joint security personnel deployed from the Janakpur-based Province Police Office and Parsa-based District Police Office nabbed him with the substance during a routine vehicle check.

Similarly, Makawanpur police on Tuesday night arrested three persons in possession of 80kg of cannabis from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-10.

One of the arrested has been identified as Santosh Ale Magar (25), a local resident of Manhari Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district while the names of the other two have not been disclosed.

They were heading towards Bara from Chitwan in a truck with vehicle registration number NA 2 KHA 5579. Joint security personnel deployed from the Makawanpur-based District Police Office and Hetauda-based Ward Police Office nabbed them with the substance during a routine vehicle check.

Meanwhile, Police in Kanchanpur district arrested two youths in possession of 7.760gm of heroin from Belauri Municipality-8.

The arrested have been identified as Lal Bahadur Ayer (24) and Chandra Bahadur Saud (22), both local residents of Rajghat in Krishnapur Municipality-9 in the district.

They were riding on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number SE 6 PA 8099. Security personnel deployed from the Belauri-based Area Police Office nabbed them with the substance during a routine vehicle check.

Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
