BHAKTAPUR: Foreign Affairs Minister Shisir Khanal inaugurated the National Youth Council Model United Nations (NYCMUN 2026) in Bhaktapur today.

Addressing the programme, Minister Khanal underscored the government’s commitment to empowering young people, stating that investment in youth leadership, skill development, and international exposure is vital for national transformation and good governance.

He also reiterated Nepal’s strong commitment to the United Nations Charter and the multilateral system, highlighting the country’s leadership role as President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and its continued contributions to UN peacekeeping missions.

Minister Khanal urged Nepali youth to actively engage in major global challenges such as climate justice, sustainable peace, and the rights of landlocked developing countries.

The program was chaired by Youth, Labor, and Employment Minister Ramjee Yadav.
