KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal and the United Kingdom’s Indo-Pacific and Equalities Minister Seema Malhotra held talks in Kathmandu on Thursday, discussing bilateral ties, trade cooperation, and long-standing concerns of former British Gurkhas.

During the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in investment, trade, education, tourism, climate action, and digital technology. Khanal urged the United Kingdom government to address unresolved grievances of ex-British Gurkhas, while Malhotra said Britain remains positive about resolving the issue.

Malhotra is on a three-day visit to Nepal and is scheduled to meet other ministers and visit Lumbini and Kapilvastu.
