BARA: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has inspected the Madhesh Province Regional Office of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) located in Amlekhgunj, Bara.
During the inspection, a high-level team led by NOC’s Acting Director Nagendra Shah briefed Minister Yadav in detail about the corporation’s current situation, storage capacity, and supply management system.
During the visit, she emphasized the importance of ethanol production, stating that ethanol serves as an alternative pathway to reduce petroleum imports. She strongly urged the private sector to step forward and invest in ethanol production.
The inspection comes at a time when petroleum prices are rising in both the international market and Nepal. Amid these circumstances, Minister Yadav stressed the urgent need to find alternative measures to mitigate the impact of price hikes.
