Govt committed to concluding transitional justice: Minister Gautam

KATHMANDU: Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam stated that the government is fully committed to bringing Nepal’s transitional justice process to a logical conclusion.

Speaking at a meeting of the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee, Minister Gautam emphasized that the government will forge consensus and collaborate with all parliamentary political parties to complete this historic task.

She announced that regulations for both the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappeared Persons are ready, a reparation fund for victims is operational, and human resource management surveys are finalized.

To establish a clear future roadmap, the government is actively consulting with stakeholders and drafting a comprehensive position paper based on precise data collection and political dialogue.
