HoR to meet today; agenda includes introduction of bills and discussion on election laws

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to meet today (Tuesday) at 11:00 AM.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the tentative agenda for today’s meeting includes presenting various bills and sending them to respective committees for clause-by-clause discussion.

During the session, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Paudel (Ganes), is scheduled to present a proposal seeking consideration on the ‘Tourism Bill, 2024’

Additionally, on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, is listed on the tentative agenda to present a proposal to send the ‘National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2024’ to the relevant committee for clause-by-clause discussion.

Furthermore, the Parliament Secretariat has indicated that a clause-by-clause discussion will be held on the ‘House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Bill, 2026’ and the ‘Voter Roll (First Amendment) Bill, 2026’.

Proposals seeking the official passage of both of these election-related bills will also be presented during the meeting.
