MYAGDI: The Myagdi section of the Beni–Jomsom–Korala road, which connects Mustang to the Chinese border point at Korala, has remained blocked since early Wednesday morning after a landslide struck the area.

The landslide occurred at Upper Baisari (Siruwari) in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2, severing direct transport connectivity along the 76-kilometre Beni–Jomsom road section.

According to Police Inspector Sagar Timilsina of the District Police Office, equipment has been mobilized in coordination with the Department of Roads and the Beni–Jomsom–Korala Road Project to reopen the obstructed road.

Vehicles travelling from Beni towards Mustang and from Jomsom towards Beni have been stranded midway due to the blockage.

Local residents, tourists visiting Mustang, and pilgrims heading to Muktinath Temple have been affected.

Authorities say the Siruwari area faces recurring landslides during rainfall, making it one of the major challenges for smooth and regular traffic operation along the Beni–Jomsom corridor.
