KATHMANDU: A team from the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested activist Bedika KC from Jorpati.

She is currently being held in custody at the Cyber Bureau. Police arrested KC on Thursday based on a complaint lodged by religious storyteller Radhika Dasi. KC faces allegations of actively spreading misinformation and misleading content through social media platforms.

KC had built a public profile as an activist exposing corrupt practices within religious traditions, leading campaigns aimed at calling out self-proclaimed religious figures, “Mata“, and “Dharmagurus.”

Prior to this arrest, KC was dismissed from her position at GBS Consultancy, an educational consultancy where she was employed, following controversial statements she posted on social media.
