KATHMANDU: A training gathering of people’s representatives affiliated with the Nepali Communist Party began in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The event, organized by the party’s local development department, has brought together elected representatives from local governments across the country where the party secured victories.

During the gathering, local development department chief Agni Prasad Sapkota presented a report reviewing the party’s progress and outlining future plans. He stressed the need to move forward based on an objective understanding of the current situation and an assessment of achievements made so far.

Sapkota said that people’s representatives serve as direct guardians of the public’s joys and hardships, emphasizing the importance of making public services more effective. He also highlighted the need to correct past weaknesses and move ahead by involving the younger generation.

According to the party, the training program will conclude on Thursday with an address by coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
