KATHMANDU: Rajendra Lingden, Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has demanded that the government immediately implement the National Human Rights Commission’s report regarding the Gen Z protest.

Speaking at a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the party’s central office in Chabahil on Friday to celebrate the RPP’s establishment day, Lingden noted that the Commission’s preliminary report has brought critical realities to light. He emphasized that the government must proactively take steps toward executing its findings.

Addressing the current political landscape, Lingden remarked that the government was formed on the back of an unprecedented public mandate, meaning it cannot afford to betray the hopes and trust of the people.

He pointed out that Nepal’s political history shows no single majority party has ever successfully managed to run a government for a full five-year term.

Given this legacy, he warned that the current largest ruling party does not have the luxury to repeat the historic shortcomings and mistakes of past administrations.

He urged the government to proceed with caution and wished them success in validating the public’s trust.

Furthermore, the RPP Chairman declared that after nearly two decades under the republican system, the time has come for a serious national review of what the country has gained and lost.

Lingden asserted that because the post-republic era has failed to strengthen the economy or establish good governance, political forces must now forge a fresh national consensus—a “new understanding”—to ensure the country’s ultimate progress.
