KATHMANDU: As he was leaving the joint session of Parliament, Prime Minister Balendra Shah drew everyone’s attention to the white shoes he was wearing.

Following the budget speech in Parliament on Friday, the Prime Minister was seen engaging in informal conversations with lawmakers while making his exit.

He shook hands and exchanged brief pleasantries with the MPs present in the lobby. During this time, he managed to chat for a while with Bidushi Rana, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

During their conversation, Prime Minister Shah proudly pointed to his white shoes and said, “Look, I am wearing a Nepali product.” The shoes he was wearing belonged to the homegrown brand ‘Goldstar’. MP Rana also happens to be the owner of Goldstar. The Prime Minister has a history of publicly supporting domestic products.

It was revealed today that the white shoes he was sporting were indeed ‘Goldstar’.
