KATHMANDU: A tense situation arose in the House of Representatives for a brief period after Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) left the hall after responding to questions from lawmakers.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister had addressed queries from one lawmaker representing each of the various political parties.

However, immediately after he exited the meeting hall, a heated debate erupted among the Members of Parliament.

Following the Prime Minister’s departure, several lawmakers, including UML’s Ain Mahar, expressed their dissatisfaction and demanded time to speak.

As the situation grew uneasy, the Speaker of the House intervened.

The Speaker drew attention to the conduct of Dhruba Rai and a few other lawmakers, noting that their behavior was against parliamentary decorum.

Additionally, the Speaker cautioned RSP lawmaker Aaren Rai, emphasizing the need to maintain restraint and respect in the language and expressions used within the House.

Although the atmosphere in the parliament heated up for a short duration following the disruption, efforts were subsequently made to steer the parliamentary agenda back to normalcy.
