JHAPA: A man has been arrested after a 55-year-old resident of Mechinagar died following a physical assault in Jhapa.

The deceased has been identified as Rudra Shrestha of Mechinagar Municipality-15. Police said that Shrestha succumbed to injuries allegedly inflicted during an assault by 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Gautam of Vyas Municipality-14, Tanahun.

Following the incident, police took Gautam into custody and launched an investigation. Further legal proceedings are underway, according to authorities.
