KATHMANDU: A meeting of opposition parties has begun at the Nepali Congress parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar to discuss Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s controversial statement in the House of Representatives.

The meeting was convened by Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe.

According to participants, discussions are focused on the political fallout from Prime Minister Shah’s remarks on Sunday that “Nepal has also encroached upon India’s land.” Opposition parties are expected to formulate a common position and determine their strategy regarding the issue.
