KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma has stated that he will remain resolutely committed to maintaining good governance within the judicial sector.

During a meeting with journalists from the Constitutional and Judicial Journalists Forum today, he shared that he intends to move forward by taking everyone along to reform the judiciary and establish good governance.

Chief Justice Dr. Sharma said, “I have explicitly included the public’s expectations of the judiciary—such as clean, impartial, swift, quality, and effective justice delivery, alongside good governance—into my official action plan. I have assumed this responsibility under sudden circumstances, and I will prove myself through my work accordingly.”

He added that the Fifth Five-Year Strategic Plan and Action Plan, which incorporates various judicial reform agendas, will serve as the primary foundation for these improvements.

During the meeting, the Forum’s President Kalika Khadka, along with former presidents Yam Birahi, Liladhar Upadhyay, Durga Dulal, and others, offered recommendations emphasizing that justice must be impartial, simple, and swift, ensuring that the general public truly feels the impact of a fair justice system.
