KATHMANDU: At least eight people were killed and 129 others injured in road accidents reported across Nepal over the past 24 hours, according to data released by Nepal Police.

Among the provinces, Karnali and Lumbini recorded the highest number of fatalities, with three deaths each. Karnali also reported 12 injuries, while six people were injured in Lumbini.

Bagmati Province recorded one death and five injuries, while Gandaki Province reported one fatality and two injuries. Koshi Province registered one death and 22 injuries.

Although no fatalities were reported in Madhesh Province, it recorded the highest number of injuries nationwide, with 66 people hurt in road accidents. Sudurpashchim Province reported six injuries but no deaths.

In Kathmandu Valley, no fatalities were recorded during the reporting period, though 10 people sustained injuries in traffic accidents.

Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads as traffic accidents continue to claim lives and cause injuries across the country.
