KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was adjourned until June 8 on Tuesday after opposition parties continued their obstruction, preventing the proceedings from moving forward.
The session, which began nearly two hours later than scheduled, was disrupted shortly after it commenced as opposition lawmakers chanted slogans and protested over various issues.
With the House unable to conduct its business amid the continued obstruction, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal adjourned the meeting and scheduled the next sitting for June 8.
Opposition parties reiterated that they would not allow parliamentary proceedings to continue until their demands are addressed. The disruption comes amid an ongoing standoff between the government and opposition forces in the House.
