KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed civil servants who have been out of contact for a long time without prior notice to report to duty within the next three days.
Issuing a public notice on Friday, the ministry gave a final ultimatum to the employees to present themselves within the specified period.
According to the ministry, the notice has been targeted at employees who took study leave or extraordinary leave but went missing without updating their records at the Department of Civil Personnel Records.
The ministry has warned that strict legal action will be initiated if they fail to mandatorily update their records within the next three days.
The government has also directed all ministries, commissions, secretariats, and central-level offices to immediately verify the details of employees under their respective agencies who have had study or extraordinary leave approved at various times.
The ministry took this step following a rise in the trend of employees remaining absent from office for long periods in the name of leave, thereby obstructing the operation of government services.
