KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has published the nomination list (matching list) for students wishing to study under the scholarship quota for classes 11 and 12 for the academic year 2026/27.
The list has been generated from the names published in the final merit list of the scholarship selection examination.
According to the decision of the Examination Committee on June 5, the list was published based on the previously released final merit list, the subjects and educational institutions chosen by the students in order of preference during application, and the number of seats allocated under regular, reservation, and group categories.
As per the published list, a total of 3,735 students have been recommended, including 6 in Education, 12 in Humanities, 50 in Law, 1,401 in Management, and 2,266 in Science.
Among those recommended, 28 students are from the landfill site-affected areas, 492 are permanent residents within the metropolitan city, 1,545 passed their SEE from community schools, and 481 passed their SEE from institutional (private) schools.
Furthermore, 13 students are persons with disabilities or from families with disabled parents, 173 are from Indigenous Nationalities, 197 are Khas Arya, 440 are under the female quota, 39 are Tharu, 96 are Dalit, 46 are from backward regions, 149 are Madhesi, 22 are Muslim, and 14 students are from the families of martyrs, disappeared individuals, the People’s Movement and conflict victims.
For this year, 4,857 scholarship quotas have been determined for 145 educational institutions within the metropolitan city, according to Education Officer and Member Secretary of the Examination Committee, Ram Chandra Khadka.
Out of these, 2,371 quotas are allocated for the Science stream. There are 1,549 quotas for Management, 7 for Education, 49 for Humanities, and 75 for Law.
These quotas were determined based on a total enrollment baseline of 18,358 students in Science, 2,382 in Management, 110 in Education, 463 in Humanities, and 621 in Law.
