3 dead, 76 injured in road accidents across Nepal in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: At least three people have lost their lives and 76 others have sustained injuries in various traffic accidents recorded across the country over a 24-hour period.

According to official data released by Nepal Police, a total of 79 casualties were reported across the seven provinces and the federal capital.

According to the data, the human toll spans multiple regions, with the highest concentration of injuries recorded in the Kathmandu Valley and Koshi Province.

A review of the provincial data reveals that Koshi Province suffered one fatality and 29 injuries, while Madhesh Province and Sudurpashchim Province each recorded one fatality along with four and seven injuries, respectively.

Although the federal capital area of Kathmandu reported no fatalities, it saw a significant number of road mishaps, resulting in 28 injuries. Elsewhere in the country, Bagmati Province registered five injuries, Karnali Province recorded two, and Lumbini Province reported one injury, with all three regions seeing zero fatalities. Gandaki Province remained the only region to record no casualties during this 24-hour window.
