KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting called by Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has commenced at the Public Accounts Committee hall in the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar.
The meeting was summoned to discuss contemporary political issues and find a resolution to the ongoing deadlock in both houses of the Federal Parliament.
While the RSP invited the top leadership (chairpersons/presidents) along with one additional representative from each party represented in parliament, major parties sent secondary representatives instead of their chiefs.
The meeting is attended by an RSP delegation including Chairman Lamichhane, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, lawmaker Deepak Bohara, and Law Minister Sobita Gautam.
Representing other political forces are Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe and lawmaker Sahajana Khatun; CPN(UML) chief whip Ain Bahadur Mahar; CPN co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal and lawmaker Barshaman Pun; Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden and chief whip Khusbu Oli; and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal National Assembly member Mohammod Khalil.
Notably, the Shram Sanskriti Party, led by Harka Raj Sampang Rai, has completely boycotted the meeting.
