KATHMANDU: At least one person was killed and 134 others were injured in road traffic accidents reported across Nepal over the past 24 hours, according to traffic police data released today.
The lone fatality was recorded in Koshi Province, which also reported 38 injuries. Madhesh Province registered the highest number of injuries, with 47 people hurt in separate traffic incidents.
In the Kathmandu Valley, 28 people sustained injuries in road accidents during the reporting period. Bagmati Province outside the Valley reported one injury, while no casualties were recorded in Gandaki Province.
Lumbini Province reported five injuries, Karnali Province recorded 10 injuries, and Sudurpashchim Province reported five injured.
Nationwide, a total of one person died and 134 were injured in traffic accidents within the 24-hour period, underscoring ongoing concerns over road safety across the country.
