KHALANGA: Bikas Pokhrel has been elected as Pyuthan district President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). The first district convention of the party elected him as the president.

Pokhrel, who was also the founding district president of the party, had been active in building the organization since its inception. According to the election committee, 204 out of 324 voters cast their votes in the convention.

Pokhrel garnered 153 votes while his nearest rival Bam Bahadur Sunar got 44 votes.

Similarly, Keshav Bahadur Mahatara was elected as the vice president. Yagyabir Pandey won as secretary and Omhari Bhattarai was elected as joint secretary.
