KATHMANDU: The Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested two contract ground handling employees working for Nepal Airlines Corporation for orchestrating a human smuggling ring through fake boarding passes at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Police authorities identified the detained airline staff as Prabin Lamichhane and Sumitra Chand, who were intercepted following an emergency security request from the Department of Immigration.

Initial forensic investigations and airport CCTV footage revealed that the suspects bypassed standard security screening by issuing an Indian national two separate boarding passes for India and Dubai, allowing the passenger to fly to Dubai without the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC).
