KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to sit today at 11:00 AM.

According to the federal parliament secretariat, the primary agenda for today’s session is to initiate deliberations on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is slated to address the house and respond to queries and concerns raised by lawmakers during the budget discussions.

Additionally, the potential agenda for today includes informing the lower house that the Finance Bill was not returned within the designated timeframe, sending the Motion Picture (Cinema) Bill to the respective parliamentary committee for clause-by-clause deliberations, and tabling notices regarding the addition of portfolios received from the Office of the Prime Minister.

Furthermore, the Finance Minister is also expected to present both the Appropriation Bill and the National Debt Collection Bill during the session.

However, uncertainty looms over whether the meeting will successfully proceed with its scheduled business.

Opposition parties have been continuously disrupting parliamentary proceedings, demanding a correction of Prime Minister Balen Shah’s recent controversial statements regarding the border.

Consequently, it remains uncertain whether today’s session will enter its regular agenda.
