KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 11 AM today was delayed as ruling and opposition leaders continued discussions to end the ongoing parliamentary deadlock.

Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri said Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and leaders from the ruling coalition were holding talks with opposition parties before the session could begin.

Opposition lawmakers have been obstructing parliamentary proceedings, demanding that Prime Minister Balendra Shah clarify his remarks on the Nepal-India border made during a question-answer session on May 31.

They have also called for the statement to be removed from the official parliamentary record.
