KATHMANDU — CPN (UML), has demanded government action over reported incursions by India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Susta, Nawalparasi, and called on Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) to retract remarks suggesting both Nepal and India had encroached on each other’s territory.
At a meeting of its Bagmati Province Committee, CPN (UML) said the Prime Minister’s comments undermined Nepal’s sovereignty and urged him to correct the statement.
The party also called for an investigation into the Susta incident and measures to prevent future border violations. In addition, CPN (UML) criticized the government’s dissolution of trade unions and condemned the arrest of party chairman KP Sharma Oli, describing it as politically motivated and inhumane.
