KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting has commenced one hour later than scheduled, following the removal of obstructions by the opposition parties. Originally scheduled for 2:00 PM this afternoon, the meeting finally began at 3:15 PM.
The opposition had been continuously disrupting recent sessions over Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s remarks regarding Nepal-India border relations during the meeting on May 31. Today’s session resumed after an understanding was reached that the government would clarify the matter during the meeting.
Currently, lawmakers are drawing attention to contemporary issues during the emergency hour of the session.
According to the agenda, Finance Minister Dr. Swornim Wagle is scheduled to present a statement along with a proposal seeking to ‘commence general discussions on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2026/027’.
The agenda also includes general discussions on the annual budget estimates for FY 2026/027, after which the Finance Minister will respond to the questions raised during the deliberations.
