KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung conducted a surprise inspection of two holding centers at Balaju on Thursday evening, where he apologized to displaced slum-dwellers for past procedural lapses during their eviction.

Clarifying that the displacement occurred before he took office, Minister Gurung assured the families that the government is fully committed to their proper management and permanent rehabilitation.

In response to grievances raised by the residents regarding disrupted children’s education and lack of medical care, the Home Minister immediately directed police personnel to monitor the centers and arrange prompt medical rescues to hospitals during health emergencies.
