KATHMANDU: A major technical glitch has abruptly hit Meta’s main applications, websites, and Messenger, leaving millions of users worldwide stranded and unable to access their accounts. Facebook users, in particular, are facing severe disruptions due to the service outage.

When attempting to use the social media platforms, users are greeted only with error messages indicating that an unexpected error or issue has occurred and that efforts are underway to resolve it. Similar technical difficulties are also being reported by Instagram users.

Gaining official information regarding this widespread disruption has proven difficult for users, as Meta has not established an official “status page” to inform its user base. Furthermore, the company’s business tools pages have not been updated, leaving millions in the dark about the ongoing crisis.
