POKHARA: The health services provided by the Civil Service Hospital will now also be available from the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara, under the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences.

Following an agreement with the Civil Service Hospital, civil servants and their families will now receive healthcare services in Pokhara, including the discounts and concessions previously offered only by the Civil Service Hospital, according to Sushil Kumar Aryal, the Information Officer of the Academy.

“An agreement regarding medical treatment was reached with the Civil Service Hospital a week ago. After completing some remaining management work, we have now started providing the service,” said Information Officer Aryal.

Under this arrangement, civil servants and their families will receive facilities and concessions for OPD, admission, laboratory tests, surgery, and all other services available at the hospital, as determined by the Civil Service Hospital.

It is mentioned that beneficiaries who have received treatment concession cards can avail of these treatment facilities.

To access the services, the Academy stated that beneficiaries must present the original copy of the treatment concession identity card issued by the Civil Service Hospital, the identity card of their current office, and a copy of the pension card in the case of retired employees.

With the expansion of this service, it is believed that civil servants and their families in Gandaki Province and neighboring districts will face less compulsion to travel to Kathmandu and will be able to easily access quality health services.

The government had previously decided to bring Civil Hospital’s healthcare services to the provincial level to facilitate civil servants, retired employees, and their dependent families working and residing outside the Kathmandu Valley, subsequently signing agreements with local hospitals.
