KHOTANG: Several sports organizations in Khotang have demanded an investigation into alleged irregularities in funds allocated for the 10th National Games.

Submitting a memorandum to the District Administration Office on Wednesday, the organizations accused District Sports Development Committee Chair Ramesh Rai and Office Chief Lilabhakta KC of misusing part of the Rs 800,000 budget provided by the Koshi Province Sports Development Board.

According to the complaint, Rs 656,000 was taken as an advance by the committee chair and has yet to be returned despite a previous commitment to do so. Chief District Officer Rekha Kandel has assured a thorough investigation into the matter.
