KATHMANDU: At least two people were killed and 84 others injured in road traffic accidents reported across Nepal within the past 24 hours, according to Nepal Police.
The figures underscore the continuing challenge of road safety nationwide, with accidents reported from several provinces.
According to the data, Koshi Province recorded one death and 18 injuries, making it one of the hardest-hit regions during the reporting period. Lumbini Province also reported one fatality, while five people sustained injuries.
Although no deaths were reported in Madhesh Province, it recorded the highest number of injuries, with 28 people hurt in various accidents. In the Kathmandu Valley, authorities registered 20 injuries but no fatalities.
Meanwhile, Sudurpashchim Province reported 11 injuries, while Karnali Province recorded two injured persons. No deaths or injuries were reported from Gandaki Province or from areas of Bagmati Province outside the Kathmandu Valley during the reporting period.
