KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division has issued a flood advisory urging residents near riverbanks in Sunsari, Morang and Sankhuwasabha districts to remain highly vigilant due to a moderate risk of flash floods triggered by the recently arrived monsoon.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, monsoon winds are currently influencing Koshi Province, bringing heavy rainfall to selected hilly and plains areas, while the rest of the country remains under the influence of western and local winds.
Additionally, meteorologists predict afternoon or evening rainfall in the Kathmandu Valley and emphasize that this year’s monsoon arrived on June 19, which is six days later than the average onset date.
