CHITWAN: Voting for the Central Committee member positions of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has concluded in Chitwan after beginning early this morning as part of the party’s ongoing first general convention in Bharatpur, which started on June 21, 2026. According to leader Ganesh Parajuli, preliminary estimates suggest around 60 percent voter turnout.

Party chair Rabi Lamichhane has already been elected unopposed.

As per the party statute, the 158-member Central Committee will consist of 99 elected members chosen through this voting process, 51 members to be nominated directly by the chair, and 7 ex-officio members from provincial committee chairpersons.

Election officials said counting is expected to move quickly, with final results likely within a couple of hours.
