KATHMANDU: All 10 local governments in Dang district—comprising two sub-metropolitan cities, one municipality, and seven rural municipalities—have announced a combined budget of Rs 10.16 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27.
Among them, Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City has allocated the largest budget at Rs 2.44 billion, the highest among all local governments in the district. Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City has presented a budget of Rs 2.37 billion.
Similarly, Lamahi Municipality has announced a budget of Rs 981.3 million, while Gadhawa Rural Municipality has allocated Rs 820 million, Rapti Rural Municipality Rs 750.5 million, Bangalachuli Rural Municipality Rs 628.1 million, and Rajpur Rural Municipality Rs 610.2 million.
Likewise, Babai Rural Municipality has unveiled a budget of Rs 560.4 million, Shantinagar Rural Municipality Rs 522.5 million, and Dangisharan Rural Municipality Rs 464.5 million.
The local governments have prioritized education, healthcare, agricultural modernization, physical infrastructure development, and employment generation in their budget plans.
According to the respective local bodies, the primary sources of funding include fiscal equalization grants, conditional grants, complementary grants, and special grants received from the federal and provincial governments, along with internal revenue collections.
