KATHMANDU: The National Luminary Bhimsen Thapa Foundation has decided to award border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha this year.

The foundation decided to award surveyor Shrestha with a cash prize of Rs 101,111 and a certificate of appreciation for continuously advocating on matters related to the country’s borders and making a significant contribution to the nation and its people.

According to Prof Dr Parthiveshwar Prasad Timilsina, the Chairperson of the Foundation, the award will be given on July 25 on the occasion of the 252nd birth anniversary of national hero Bhimsen Thapa.

For nearly three decades, the foundation has been awarding an individual or organisation that has contributed to history or various fields of national importance in memory of national hero Bhimsen Thapa.

Last year, Dr Bhekh Bahadur Thapa, who has made significant contributions to Nepal’s diplomacy and economy, was awarded that prize.
