KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across various parts of Nepal today and tomorrow, driven by an increasing influx of water vapor from a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal.

Moderate to heavy rains are already occurring in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

With monsoon activities intensifying, thunder-triggered heavy downpours are expected in both the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with a few areas bracing for extreme rainfall.

Due to the high risk of soil erosion, landslides, flash floods, and urban inundation in the Terai as river levels rise, authorities have strongly urged residents to remain highly vigilant and take necessary precautions.
