KATHMANDU: Tokha Municipality in Kathmandu has organized the 23rd National Paddy Day and Planting Festival 2026.

The festival was held on Monday afternoon under the slogan “Climate-Friendly Technology, Rice Self-Sufficiency, and Prosperity.”

According to the municipality, the event—organized by the Agricultural Development Branch—featured collective rice planting, the promotion of modern agricultural technology, and various activities aimed at boosting self-sufficiency in rice production.

The program aimed to encourage the use of climate-adaptive agricultural technologies, increase rice yields, attract farmers toward modern farming practices, and contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
