KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has stated that Nepal must be transformed into a prosperous nation to create an environment where millions of citizens living abroad can return home.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday to mark Parliament Day, Speaker Aryal emphasized that in the coming days, the country must end corruption, maintain good governance, and build a prosperous nation to welcome back the millions of citizens currently outside the country.
He shared his view that the country should be made prosperous by combining the experience of the older generation with the knowledge of the younger generation.
Speaker Aryal stressed that the executive, judiciary, and legislature must move at the same pace to accommodate the urgent desire of the youth to fast-track the nation’s development and work on issues directly affecting citizens’ livelihoods.
He added that the country must move forward by following the Constitution to the letter, ensuring that the rule of law is never compromised.
Parliament Day is celebrated in Nepal to commemorate the first meeting of the parliament, which took place on June 30, 1959.
