NEPSE continues downward trend; drops 24.63 points on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which took a downward path throughout the previous week, has maintained its downward trajectory this week as well. On the second trading day of the week today, Tuesday, NEPSE declined by double digits. Experiencing fluctuations throughout the day, NEPSE ultimately decreased by 24.63 points. However, the trading turnover of NEPSE increased compared to the previous day.

Yesterday, Monday, NEPSE had decreased by 16.54 points. Decreasing by 0.93 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2608.33 points today.

On this day, the sensitive index also decreased by 3.04 points and stopped at 452.79 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.66 percent lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.84 percent and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.71 percent.

In the share market on Tuesday, at least 8,737,392 shares of 365 companies were bought and sold in 79,286 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 3.258 billion took place on Tuesday. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 2.671 billion had taken place.

The share prices of only 35 companies increased in the share market today. While the share prices of 235 companies went down, the share prices of six companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today, Tuesday, the indices of all groups declined.

In the completely red NEPSE on Tuesday, the indices of commercial banks decreased by 0.73 percent, development banks by 0.01 percent, finance by 1.00 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.93 percent, hydropower by 1.43 percent, investment by 0.74 percent, life insurance by 0.56 percent, manufacturing and processing by 1.20 percent, and the microfinance group by 0.56 percent. Similarly, the sub-indices of mutual funds decreased by 0.31 percent, non-life insurance by 0.61 percent, others by 1.31 percent, and the trading group by 1.74 percent.

On Tuesday in NEPSE, investors of Snow Rivers earned 14.99 percent. On the other hand, investors of Taksar Pikhuwa Khola Hydropower lost 14.03 percent in share price.

In terms of trading amount, Siddhartha Bank remained at the top position today. On Tuesday, it saw a turnover of Rs 133.9 million.

Similarly, on the basis of the number of traded shares, Kumari Dhanabriddhi Yojana (Mutual Fund) remained ahead today. On Tuesday, at least 734,450 units of this fund were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 10.79 per unit.
