KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the Department of Immigration to submit certified records of Attorney General Narayan Datta Kandel’s travel between Nepal and the UK from 2015 to 2024.
A joint bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued the order during a hearing on writ petitions seeking to void Kandel’s appointment due to his alleged UK Permanent Residency (PR) status.
While refusing to issue an immediate interim order, the court also summoned the government’s official appointment recommendation file from April 2026 to resolve his eligibility during a full hearing.
