KATHMANDU: Addressing a party event in Chyasal, CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that there is currently no possibility of institutional party unity and urged workers not to be misled by such rumors.
Instead, he emphasized the urgent need for a joint struggle and functional unity among all democrats, leftists, and patriots to restore what he termed “hijacked democracy” and counter the ongoing chaos in the country.
Commenting on the past, Oli claimed that previous merger attempts lacked purity and were driven by self-interest and political maneuvering.
He also criticized the inquiry commission’s report regarding the violent incidents of last September Gen Z protests, calling the subsequent elections a staged drama to legitimize past crimes and asserting that the incidents were a coordinated conspiracy against the constitution rather than a spontaneous youth uprising.
Moving forward, he urged the restructuring and revitalization of inactive party committees to build a stronger internal organization.
