One killed, 13 injured in Dolpa jeep accident

DOLPA: One person has died and 13 others, including the driver, have been injured in a jeep accident in Dolpa. The Bolero jeep (Karnali Province 001 Ja 0052), which was heading towards Jumla from Majhgaun in Jagadulla Rural Municipality-4, met with the accident at Maurelek.

According to the police, the jeep lost control and plunged about 25 meters down the road at around 2:00 PM on Sunday. The District Police Office, Dolpa, confirmed that 38-year-old Bishnu Thapa from Tripurasundari Municipality-8, Dolpa, died on the spot.

Preliminary reports indicate that there were 14 people on board, including the driver. Preparations are underway to send the injured to Jumla for treatment, and an ambulance from Chandannath Municipality, Jumla, is currently en route to the accident site. Detailed reports regarding the accident are still awaited.
