KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ramesh Prasai on Monday urged the Home Minister to explain the government’s long-term plan to curb recurring fatal accidents on the Karnali Highway, arguing that the state cannot evade its responsibility to protect citizens’ lives. He called on the Speaker to direct the Home Minister to respond in Parliament, saying the repeated tragedies have been reduced to routine news.

During the same House of Representatives session, Nepali Congress lawmaker Bhishma Raj Angdambe questioned the source of Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen)’s declared assets, particularly his reported gold holdings. While supporting the government’s anti-corruption campaign, Angdambe said all public office holders, including himself and the Prime Minister, should face impartial asset investigations and publicly disclose the sources of their wealth.
