At least three injured after house collapses in Baitadi

BAITADI: Three people, including an eight-month-pregnant woman, were injured after a two-story mud-and-stone house collapsed in Sirad, Melauli Municipality-1, police said.

According to District Police Office Baitadi spokesperson Bhuwan Prasad Timilsina, the injured are Manisha Parki, 18, Chandani, 13, and Priya Parki, 22, who is eight months pregnant. Priya’s condition is reported to be serious, while the other two sustained minor injuries.

Police said the house owned by Sune Parki collapsed after its main supporting beam gave way. A team of six police personnel led by Assistant Police Constable Ghanshyam Jaishi from the Area Police Office Tashchadehi was deployed to the scene.

The injured were rescued by police and local residents and taken to Kesharpur Primary Health Center, Melauli, for treatment.
