KATHMANDU: Shram Sanskriti Party Chairman Harka Sampang on Monday said constitutional amendments should preserve the Constitution’s basic structure, warning that careless changes could create future problems.
Speaking during the House of Representatives meeting, Sampang said amendments should be made only where necessary while safeguarding the Constitution’s core framework. He also welcomed the government’s 100-day efforts on good governance, corruption control, and public service delivery.
Sampang urged the government to expedite construction of the Darchula-Tinker Road, saying national pride projects should prioritize border areas. He also called for the early distribution of land ownership certificates to squatters and landless settlers.
In addition, Sampang urged the government to upgrade the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan into a university and called for the decentralization of health services.
